I was diagnosed with PCOS at 14, and I'd never been on depo or the pill at that point. I was having such massive periods due to my PCOS, that I was actually put on depo as a part of treatment for PCOS. It curbed hair growth slightly, a majority of my acne went away and all the horrible periods have slowed. All the reported side effects of depo (weight gain, etc.) have never occurred. This, combined with al dactone, have pretty much rid me of 90% of my symptoms, even allowing me to lose weight without being on a low-carb diet...
