Hey there,

I completely understand what you are talking about. I am 25 years old now and have a pretty good hold on my PCOS. However, I took about 4 years out of my life and was completely depressed. I stopped hanging with my friends and began staying at home a lot. The reason why was because I started feeling like I was turning into a man, well not really, but I was growing so much hair on my chest and breasts and neck and chin that I couldn't bare the thought of somebody seeing it and making fun of me. It was dark hair and growing all over the place. Growing up I had always had a lot of hair on my lower abdomin. That bothered me when it was summer time and I wanted to get into a swimming suit, but for all the other times it was very easy to hide. I never let my boyfriends touch or see my stomach. All of a sudden when I turned 21 hair started growing everywhere. I couldn't deal with it. I tried bleaching, waxing, etc. but it didn't work that great. I am now on Yasmin and have noticed such a big difference. I still have the hair on my tummy but my chest hair is almost gone (you can't even see it), and the hair on my breast is very few. I think that it's the spiralactone type stuff in the Birth Control Yasmin that is making it get better. I tried taking Spiralactone by itself and really noticed a difference. I want to get back on that again. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that when I was in Jr. High, highschool and the first few years of college I was very popular, pretty, and had tons of guys wanting me etc., then that all changed and I went into hybernation (depressed, ugly, no friends, weight gain, hair growth, etc.), now I am going back to where I was before and feeling really good about myself. There is a way to get back to the way you were before. You just have to really take care of yourself and find a medication that will work for you (Yasmin BC, or Spiralactone, ask your doctor). Don't give up on the medication, it took a few months for me to notice that the hair was going away. I have also lost about 18 pounds in the past 9 weeks. This has helped me so much about feeling good about myself. I see the girl who I was in Highschool. I am sorry, I didn't mean to write a book here. Please don't give up! Sincerely, Cheryl
