Gina,

First, get to the doctor and find out WHY you have the problem......exactly what hormonal disorder is causing it, and there are a couple that can cause this problem.

Then, insist that the doctor treat you with medications that will help improve this problem, and there definitely are some. For instance, spironolactone, and I think some others, and they all can be treated and managed.

Also, consider electrolysis. It appears from reports and from personal stories, that it works better than laser treatment.

And no, you don't sound ridiculous. I have a relatively small amount of facial hair from PCOS, and yes, it can really make me feel ugly and totally less than feminine. You're not alone in feeling that way at all!

Good luck! Try to do something nice for yourself that reminds you of feeling and being feminine!
