L,

I absolutely applaud you for deciding to focus on life, and put this problem in perspective!

A lot of us have problems doing that. Especially if we reach the point in life when it might cause problems with fertility, and boy, can the emotional agony of that take over everything in life.

Now, can I make a little plea to you, from my perspective at age 43? Do what you can, at your age to take care of your health. Learn what you can about PCOS, learn about how it affects you, commit yourself to exercise and being active, commit yourself to a healthy diet, and get yourself on a medication regimen that not only helps out with problems now, but protects you in the future. In the near future, you may want babies, and you don't want the syndrome to screw that up for you. And in the far future, you don't want diabetes, heart disease, etc, all the nasty stuff this disease can lead to.

I wish that when I was 21, I had known I had PCOS (I was diagnosed at age seven but parents didn't tell me) and I wish that glucophage had been around then. Use the knowledge that we have now to control this disease to protect yourself from future problems, and then..........

Do exactly what you said you are doing! Enjoy your life!! And I agree, not having periods can be great! YOu go, gurl!!
