Re: How many calories per day?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 28 Aug 2003 21:07:15 -0500 (CDT)
i don't know if i've gained or lost WEIGHT in the past month or so becuase i don't own a scale, but i've sure slimmed down and hardened up since i've had my job doing landscaping this summer, and i was pretty thin to begin with. i started off kust eating a lot of fruits and vegetables, not because i was trying to diet, just because that's what i was in the mood for on hot days after having sweat so much. i got TOO SKINNY! so i started packing in the ice cream and pasta, and my arms and shoulders have been bulking up with muscles. must be all the push mowing and weedwhacking. anyway, in answer to your curiosity, my experience has been that lots of physical excercise (about 8-10 hours a day)that invloves a combination of runnign around and moving heavy machines and stuff like that will get you in shape so that your body's will to have what it needs to keep going will override whatever ideas your brain has about what it should or shouldn't be eating. in other words, counting calories is pointless unless your trying to imp5rove your math skills. oh, and you don't need a measuring tape or scale or whatever to see the soft curves turn into hard edges. my advice to everyone who wants to be in better shape, get to eat more, get the best sleep of your life, and earn money at the saem time -- get a job doing heavy manual labor, you lazy bums!
