I once heard that women with PCOS sometimes ovulate, but ovulate later in the cycle than other women. Understand? The monitor usually sells for about $200, then the test sticks are about $50 for 30 sticks. In the long run, I think it will be cheaper. >> >>-----Original Message----- >>From: anonymous@obgyn.net [mailto:anonymous@obgyn.net >>Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2003 2:07 PM >>To: Multiple recipients of list PCOS >>Subject: Re: ovulation tests and the fertility monitor >> >>Would the fertility monitor work for me if I have PCOS, but with mostly >>regular periods? If your MD can get your cycles "regular", then I would definately suggest the Clear Plan Easy Fertility Monitor. I found mine at a drugstore that was going out of business. I was able to get it for half price. Shop around before you actually purchase one. Good Luck! >>> >>>-----Original Message----- >>>From: anonymous [mailto:anonymous@obgyn.net >>>Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2003 1:01 PM >>>To: Multiple recipients of list PCOS >>>Subject: Re: ovulation tests and the fertility monitor >>> >>>I used the ClearPlan Fertility Monitor and it did work VERY well for me >>>in predicting ovulation. It is more expensive than regular tests you find in the drugstore, (and hard to find) but it was reccomended by my fertility specialist. All other tests didn't work because either I got a line every day (some people with PCOS have traces of the leutenizing hormone in there urine all throughout their cycle) or the line was always light, never indicating a true surge. With the assure tests I only get one line during the cycle and it is clear (and ovulation has been confirmed through ultrasound, plus I got pregnant using it, so I know it works) Good luck to everyone out there trying to conceive. :-)Eileen
