Hi JWJ,
Your mother needs to be evaluated for hidden bleeding. That would
explain the low iron condition. The bypass may be the source
She also needs a blood test to check her Vitamin B12 levels. Pernicious
anemia
can sneak up on you. Does she have any neurological symptoms like
numbness, burning, tingling, itching of the extremities or vision
changes?
Good luck and don't daly..
