My mother had gastric bypass surgery, and now truly wishes she hadn't. She did initially lose lots of weight, but some came back because I believe she still has the underlying hormonal imbalances of PCOS (which she didn't know about then). In addition to this, she is left with a problem now of not being able to absorb enough iron and her iron level is constantly too low. She has to get iron injections and they only help temporarily, so she fights frequent fatigue. Jessica
