Hey,
When I started on glucophage I was put on the generic metformin where
you had to take it two or three times a day. It made me feel like
crap--I had stomach cramps so bad I layed in bed from 5pm on... I know
it's more expensive, but when I switched to glucophage XR (the time
release) it made a world of difference--I haddn't really lost weight on
the generic, a little, but not very much and on the XR I was soaring and
lost 40 lbs..without effort--just by eating as I always had (because it
wasn't turning straight into fat anymore!)
Anyway.. Give that a try--I was on metformin generic for two or three
months before I said F'this but it totally helped me to switch.
