When to take MedsFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 26 Aug 2003 07:18:24 -0500 (CDT)
I have been on Metformin (and Synthroid for Hypothyroidism) for about eight months now. I have been doing great with dieting and as of this morning's weigh in I have lost 50 lbs. I have found dieting to be so much easier while taking Met. I used to have cravings during mid-day and afternoon, they would be so severe and very hard to fight. Now I do not have the day time cravings but at about 7PM I do get them--really bad. I am on 1000mg of Metformin 2 times a day I take my synthroid as soon as I get up (have to take that 1hr before eating) and then I take the first Metformin dosage with breakfast when I get to work around 7:30 AM, I have lunch around 12:30PM and then take the second pill around 5PM with dinner. Would taking my second pill with a snack at around 7PM help or would this be too spaced out and cause afternoon cravings?
