Metformin, Flutamide, Yasmin 28, and LupronFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Aug 2003 12:34:15 -0500 (CDT)
I have both endometriosis and PCOS and will begin the second round of Lupron injections (which causes weight gain). I am currently on Yasmin 28 and will be taking them coninuously per my doctor; meaning that I will start a new pack on the first day of my sugar pills; this way, I won't be getting a period at all. My doc also has me on a 1200 calorie diet, taking Flutamide twice a day, Metformin (Glucophage) 1000 mg a day and I also use Vaniqa. I am 31, 5 ft, 4 1/2 inches tall and weigh about 183 pounds. My doctor is telling me that it is very important for me to lose weight soon because of the high risk of getting Diabetes II. It is so hard though to try and lose weight as you all know. This makes it hard because I am an emotional eater too. Does any one have any suggestions or ideas on what would make this transition an easier one for me so I will lose weight? My doctor is great and only wants the best for me and also specializes in PCOS and Endo. He is wonderful! Also, this may be a stupid question, but why can't you drink alcohol while on Metformin? Flutamide? and can you take multivitamins while on Flutamide and Metformin? Thanks for your support, Becky
