Hi..I too recently was diagnosed with hpv..Mine comes back low grade and has been this way for close to 2 years..In my research..You are at risk for cervical cancer however....this is why pap smears are so important..Make sure you get them regularly..it is only when you neglect to get them and over the course of years this can happen..also hpv can lie dormant in your system for years ..sometimes severe stress can actually set it off...also you might ask about ways to treat it ...i wouldn't just let severe dysplasia sit...I know there are treatments such as freezing and if im correct even laser..one doctor suggested that my husband be checked by a urologist as well since between partners you are most likely transmitting it back and forth..I'm pregnant now and of course my pap came back abnormal..I can;t do anything right now but I plan on choosing some course of treatment...I felt awful when I found out since I have only been with two men myself..my ex and present husband... but IT really is very common and there are thousands of women who aren't even aware they carry it..Good luck and you really might want to ask about treatment..Kim
