My friend has HPV.It's funny you ask because we were just talking about it the other day. It is a sexually transmitted disease. It is a virus. So you can not cure it but manage the symptoms. If you only had sexual relations with your husband then you got it from him. Men can carry it with no symptoms. He could of got it before he met you. From what my friend says it is very common & something like 70 % of women have it. She said there are two forms, one is the one with the warts & the other one has no warts. She has the one without the genital warts. She said that it is a silent killer of woman because HPV is the cause of cervical cancer. Two years ago she had the tip of her cervix cut off due to hyperplasia. Usually they only test for HPV if your PAP smear comes back abnormal. The reason it is so fresh in my mind is because my friend had throat surgery the other day. She had a papaloma(sp?)growth in her throat. Evidentally the virus can become systemic. This is all just from what she told me. I've never researched it before. So your best bet is to do an internet search on it to make sure this info is accurate. Hope I helped. Good luck.
