Re: Any *lean* women taking Metformin?

Hi,

I was (before I started taking met) technically about 5-10 pounds "overweight" for my weight, height, etc. I am 5 feet 7 inches and wear and size 12. I have lost 5 pounds in about 5-6 weeks on met but I do not consider myself obese nor does my doc. I do not have periods (until today-thank you met) and was trying to conceive also (before nursing school came about) and Clomid did not work for me at all. I do have insulin resistance. I have noticed a huge change in my energy, outlook, face shape, acne, hair growth, etc., and I am only on 1000 mg so far. I would definitely have your insulin checked. Mine was 116 the first time it was tested and only 3 the next time before met was started. My doc said that it can fluctuate wildly from time to time. So if you have some of the symptoms don't let your doc talk you out of it just because you're not obese-because there's a good chance you could be anyway one of these days if you are insulin resistant. Good luck with everything!
