Wow, Southbeach Diet, I just checked that book out from the library. I am overweight, and every doctor, or person I know tells me that it is unhealthy to carry and be heavy.. My sister was very heavy and carried triplets....plus I see heavy people all the time carry. Just be responsible and eat healthy. Keep your stress down it helps....

I have posted a similar question here before, but did not receive many answers, so I thought that I would post again.

I just started on the lowest dose of Met last week . . . new Doc put me on and is hoping that will spark ovulation and I can get pregnant.

I weighed 260 pounds (5'2") until I started the South Beach Diet in June (now I am at 238 pounds).

My Doc said that my weight doesn't pose any problems for pregnancy and that I can remain on a low-carb diet throughout my pregnancy as long as I eat nutritiously and take my prenatal vitamins.

HOWEVER - - - after searching for "Pregnancy & Obesity" on the internet, I found many horror stories about all the things that can happen to mother and/or child if you are pregnant while obese, including death to one, other or both!

Please share any stories or advice that you have on this issue . . . I wanted to start trying for that baby immediately, but now I am scared!

Thank you in advance for your stories.
