Re: Arghhhhhh.... I feel like a prisoner!From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 15 Aug 2003 06:46:06 -0500 (CDT)
Jules: Many have had the same problems in the US as well as other places. It is not always easy to find a doctor that is knowlegable about this condition and will listen to you. Gyno's have been no help for me either, I spent two years and went to three different gynocologists trying to get help, It was only when I got a new family doctor who suggested that I see an Endocrinologist that I started to get somewhere. Even then, I had seen three Endocrinologists before I was able to start treatment (the first one did not listen to me or run tests; the second one dropped my insurance before I could start treatment and finally the third one was a Keeper!) I don't understand why they would do surgery to "look" that sounds crazy. If possible, I would try to see an Endocrinologist. Arm yourself with as much information as you can (this website is a great start, ask questions. Glucophage/Metformin is a wonderful treatment for PCOS and I would mention this to your doctor. Best Wishes, Jodi
