Arghhhhhh.... I feel like a prisoner!From: Jules (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 15 Aug 2003 06:15:27 -0500 (CDT)
Hi all I am a New Zealander that was diagnosed with PCOS 20 months ago. My symptoms were typical and diagnosis a relief as I thought things could get better! I didn't know much about it and just believed in my docotr Once diagnosed I went on an oral contraceptive until I was hospitalised 7 months later with such severe pain when I was referred to a gynae. I waited until the pulic health system 2 months but then decided to go private... she then mucked around with more hormonal tablets to no reprieve. I finally got an appointment 14 months after my original diagnosis in feb of this year and saw a specialist who has me sceduled in for surgery on Sep 3 for a "look around" I found this site tonight, and it doesn't seem as if in NZ we are up with the play with PCOS!!! I feel trapped, suffocated and sick! Why are they doing surgery for a look? What is happening? I am confused and scared.... I have read stuff on this site that makes me question our med professionals! The only specilist I have seen in a gynae... no endo... no nothing! ADVICE please, please, please! Thanks in advance!
