I just saw a new doc about my PCOS and the fact that I want to get pregnant. I told him though, that I was waiting to lose some more weight before attempting pregnancy (I am afraid of the risks to myself or my baby by being pregnant and obese). I am 5'2" and weighed 260 when I started The South Beach Diet on June 23, 2003. I now weigh 238. The doc said that there was no reason to wait any longer and prescribed me Metformin (which I have never been on before) and Provera. He told me to try those for 3 months and if I don't get pregnant then he is going to stimulate my ovaries? Then, I read on here NOT to attempt pregnancy while on Provera, cause there could be serious consequences to the embryo? I don't understand what my doctor is doing!!
