Re: ATTENTION ALL PCOS'ERS--> DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN WELL? DO YOU LIVE NEAR CORN FIELDS??From: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 9 Aug 2003 03:16:44 -0500 (CDT)
interesting theory. I belive that most of us with PCOS have a genetic link but it wouldnt surprise me to hear that pestisides, hormones or any other chemicals could have caused mutations in some of our genes. I have read an interesting study about hormones given to cows to increase milk production having effects of adolecent girls so I can certainly keep an open mind to your ideas. > >1)WHAT STATE DO YOU LIVE IN? PA > >2)WOULD YOU CLASSIFY YOUR AREA AS URBAN, RURAL, SUBURBAN? Rural > >3)DID YOU GROW UP IN A RURAL, URBAN, OR SUBURBAN AREA? Rural > >3)DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE YOUR OWN WELL (DUG IN THE GROUND) FOR DRINKING >WATER OR DO YOU USE CITY PROVIDED WATER? City > >4)DO YOU LIVE NEAR ANY TYPE OF AGRICULTURAL CROP? No >4b) IF YES, WHAT IS IT? (CORN, WHEAT, PINEAPPLE, APPLES, Etc) > >5) DOES ANYONE ELSE IN YOUR FAMILY DISPLAY ANY TYPE OF ENDOCRINE RELATED >DISORDERS? (I.e. Insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, any hormone >imbalance, growth problems) many of my paternal grandmother's relatives have insulin issues > >6) DOES ANYONE ELSEIN YOUR AREA DISPLAY ANY TYPE OF ENDOCRINE RELATED >DISORDERS? Cetainly there are diabetics in our area. wether more than in the average population I dont know.
