Yeah, so anyway, back to the actual QUESTION about Vitex....

I owe you an email too :)

I haven't taken vitex myself but I do know it's a VERY common fertility herb that a lot of the other women I know through TTC channels take. >From what I hear from them it is supposed to 1) reduce prolactin levels
(useful if high prolactin is what keeps you from ovulating, a definite possibility with PCOS) 2) encourage a good estrogen:progesterone ratio (also good for us) and 3) apparently it interferes with excess androgens somehow. I guess it reduces androgens or their effects, and it was used years and years ago to reduce sexual desire, giving it the name chasteberry. *shrug*

Now I've got NO idea if any of that is true or not, just that that's what I hear from other TTC women taking it! I would do as much research as you can and make sure it's not something that has potentially terrible side effects and then heck, go for it. Maybe it will help.

I'm sending you lots of baby dust and we've all got our fingers crossed here for you :) You've waited a long time and deserve this more than just about anyone I know!! GOOD LUCK!!!
