Re: To Be or Not to Be on MetforminFrom: Micha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 4 Aug 2003 16:35:14 -0500 (CDT)
Hi. Being from NYC I truly understand your metformin travelling dilemma. I never would of gotten pregnant without metformin. I'm six months along and thankful everyday for that drug. I went on it three years ago and also worried about the commute to work. I really think that you should try going on it again. This time work up to your dosage in little tiny increments. I mean really tiny. Like breaking up the pills in little tiny pieces and not increasing up until the side effects are gone. I did this and it took months but it was worth it. It took my up to six months to menstruate regularly but eventually everything came together. Many of us need a great deal of patience when it comes to met. But it only took me three months of trying to get pregnant with no fertility drugs. All the doctors said it wouldn't happen. But I refused to give in. Don't give up on it. Best of luck.
