I had been having abdominal pains for the past 5 days like I've never had before. I saw my doctor and he said I had "swollen ovaries" (whatever that means). He prescribed some antibiotics and told me to call if things got better/worse. Well I've asked around and no one has heard of this so I did a little research today and found this site. When I saw the symptoms I thought holy cow this is me! I called my doctor today to see if he could see me again and schedule an ultrasound. My appointment isn't until the 12th but I feel so uncomfortable and now that I have discovered what this could possibly mean I don't want to wait. It's only been 24 hours since I've started taking the antibiotics but I find myself anxious. I've always had "irregular periods", but this last one has got to be the worse. I've been on my period for almost 2 and a half weeks now. No wonder my ovaries are swollen! Has anyone with PCOS gone through this that could offer some advice?
