I would figure the best thing to do would be to address your concerns with your doctor (whether PCP or GYN). Also know, although we may believe we have a certain disease/condition because we read about it and seem to have the symptoms does not mean we do have it...however, that does not mean that we don't either. The best thing to do would be to talk to your doctor and determine what the best course of action would be. Don't forget to ask questions and explanations. If you are not satisfied, look for a second opinion.
