Hi Darlene, Welcome to our family. I'm glad that you found a new doctor that is trying to get you the help you need. I'm am a little pissed at her/him, and many other doctors for not letting you in on how your diet can enhanse or relive the "met moments" that you are having. Although most of us only experience the severe problems for 4-8 weeks, it's been a year since I started on metformin and if I am cheating too much, I get punished about 20 mins after I eat. It is so important to remember that this is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change. I think I preach a little too hard about eating right. For the record, I do cheat. I dont think a little cheating hurts now and again. But just like an Alchoholic, if I fall off the wagon, I have to get back on. The part that makes me so mad at myself is that I truly feel better when I eat right. I dont understand why french fries are more important than having lots of energy and feeling great. I think alot of it is laziness. Yes, it is deffinately a pain to have to cook every meal for yourself because Pizza Hut doesnt have whole wheat dough. Ok I am done whining.

If you read the last post I sent to Alyssa you'll see my suggestions on how to help your self with the met side effects. I think its the re:frustrated one. I typed it last night. so there wont be much looking on your part.

Feel free to email me personally at the address below if you want.
