I have never heard of this disease until I came across it on the web. Reading all the symptom's has made me believe I may have it. I have not had a period for 3 months. Actually, I never had a normal menstrual cycle. Also, I have noticed unusual facial hair on my chin. I pluck it but it always comes back. I have also gained around 20 lbs. in the last few months. I have also started thinking that maybe my mother had pcos but was never diagnosed with it. She stopped having her period at the age of 16 and didn't have it again until she was 33, when she conceived me. She, as well as alot of her female relatives have alot of facial hair on the chest and chin. Her doctor at the time told her it was because she weighed so much that she didn't have a regular menstrual period. Around the time she stopped having periods, she gained alot of weight. Does this run in families? I think i may have it. I don't know where to start, seeing as though im only 18 and new to this. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
