Met and Glucophage are supposed to be the same thing, but I don't believe they really truly are. Generic drugs, made by different manufacturers, can have different percentages of the active ingredients, along with different fillers, that can make the drug react differently in some people. This is what I have read and have heard from the experiences of many people. I absolutely cannot take Met as it does nothing for me. I wish I could, because glucophage costs me more as my insurance requires me to pay a higher co-pay. About a month ago, this was a discussion here on the forum. Many women wrote in that they had no success with Met, but Glucophage worked just fine. Others can take Met just fine. It all depends on the person I guess. No, I am not confusing it with XR.
