Re: Can this be PCOS? A bunch of health problems i have! PLEASE READ!From: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 21 Jul 2003 19:56:52 -0500 (CDT)
Scalps injection!!! Been there, done that. 75 bucks to get injections meant for someone who was losing their hair post partum(I was 13 at the time so that obviously didnt include me). Ok, welcome to our little community. I am guessing you have already looked around here a bit because you mention skin tags. Though most of us lack periods, some of us have the exact opposite resulting in the period that never seems to end. It totally sucks that you are 46 and only now getting proper treatment. I could quickly turn this post into a "how angry am I that I was 38 when I finally found out what the heck was going wrong", but I wont. What is past is prologe. Hair issues, weight problems, skin tags, high cholestral and trigycerides and insulin issues. Yes, you deffinately sound like you belong with us. Legs burning and tingling can be a sign of a circulartory system problem. PLEASE tell the doctor you are seeing about this one. IF this appointment is the end of July, fine. If this appointment is for the end of August, call your family doctor. This shouldnt be messed around with. Having had a pulmonary embolism from blood clots in my knee, I would never wish that on anyone. I am only alive because I dropped over in the doctors office. This generally fatal, there are few of us out there that are alive to tell the tale. Also, please talk to the doctor about this painful intercourse. Tilted pelvis and many other things can cause this, and it might be fixable. It also may be the cause of you urinary problems, although hysterectomy can cause this as well. THere are ton of other reasons for urgency issues, many also fixable. Seeing that you already know about your sugar, it is easy to say that at the very least you are insulin resistant. Hopefully the docotr will get you on an insulin sensitizer to help alieviate that problem. I have been on metformin and spironolcatone for a year and it has done wonders for me. I also strive to stay away from refined carbohydrates such as sugar, white bread, juices and other processed carbohydrates. Most of us that are IR find that once the insulin issue is resolve, hormones that are out of whack causing the excessive hair, a metabolism that cant mantain your skin so you get skin tags, and the cholestral, triglycerides and blood pressure problems are often helped. Good Luck and let us all know how it goes for you.
