I can't imagine why there would be any problem with getting your tubes tied. It shouldn't affect your hormone output.

>From my experience, it is difficult to have your tubes tied unless you
are over 35 or have already had a child. I know that Zero Population Growth used to give vouchers for tubal ligations and vascetomies in the 1980s.

Being a social services provider for over 10 years, I have found myself deeply committed to women who exercise personal choice over their life, including reproduction. While PCOS takes some choice away from those trying to conceive who are diagnosed, it is also a burden for those who NEVER wanted children. It doesn't lessen your angst over potential pregnancy, it heightens your fear of heart attack!

And believe it or not, not wanting and not wanting to bear a child is okay. It is not only okay, it is the right thing to do for many women. Therefore, I support all forms of birth control and am a giant supporter of equal rights and pro choice. I can take a lashing if you really want to go to that extreme, but be prepared to be ignored because I'm not interested in arguing, only learning.

I'm sad that people took themselves off this list, but if the decision of another person causes so much distress in their OWN lives, than maybe they wouldn't be able to take some of the other stuff that is discussed on this list.

Personally, I love the diversity on this list, get very excited when one of you gets pregnant (ON PURPOSE) or adopts a child, and get a lot of info from you all regarding treatment. I don't know what I would do without this list, in fact, and was SOOO glad to find it when I was still so numb from my diagnosis. So, I'm sorry that a new person would take herself off based on a negative response.

I don't post as regularly as I should, but I was definitely alarmed that there were new personal attacks. Sad.
