Re: Glucophage and Provera

You really should try to get back with your doc, or at least your pharmacist, but I'll tentatively answer this based on what I've learned. For some women the glucophage only helps a certain extent (or not at all), and for others it works miracles. I have read of a few women who said that with glucophage alone their periods came back as well as relieving many other symptoms of PCOS. Others have said they still are on provera or birth control because it didn't help their periods. So it sounds like you may be in the first group and lucky to have glucophage regulate you. Then again it could be a fluke, I don't know your history with menstration previously. But overall, if it was me I wouldn't take the provera because when I was on it before I went to birth control, I was only using it to induce periods. Since you've had one, logic says you don't need to induce one. But like I said, I would really consult someone with a degree. I'm not sure if you're trying to conceive or your doc may have put you on the provera for a reason other than inducing a period. Good luck!
