Re: Does anyone have PCOS without Insulin Resistance? From: Alyssa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 15 Jul 2003 13:41:27 -0500 (CDT)
I have PCOS and the only way it was found was that I don't have periods and my OB/GYN did a fasting glucose/insulin. It was 116. Then I went to the endo, and she did a fasting insulin that was 3. I am just starting met and have already seen some minor changes. No period yet but still waiting. SO-I guess what I am saying is that maybe you should have another test, because my endo said that if you have insulin resistance in some cases your tests can fluctuate (in my case wildly). BUT-You can have PCOS without IR. The only reason that this sounds familiar to me is that I tried Clomid too and it didn't work for me. I probably just confused the heck out of you, and I apologize for that! Just take it for what its worth-if that's anything...lol...! Alyssa:-)
