Re: Glucophage or Yasmin?From: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 14 Jul 2003 23:01:22 -0700 (PDT)
Boy, I must be very fortunate then. I've been on the pill since before I was ever diagnosed with Endometriosis and all the other problems I now have and it has done wonders for my PCOS along with the Aldactone. Also, it is not necessarily true that an endocrinologist is the best dr for someone with PCOS even though it is a hormonal disorder. Neither is an RE in all cases. For some women such as myself a gyn can do just as well and that is of course if the dr knows about PCOS which again I'm fortunate my dr does. And she's a regular OB/GYN (yep, one who delivers babies). The same is true even for women with Endometriosis. Thanks to each and every one of you for helping me realize even further that while it's true that I have PCOS that I have a dr that knows how to treat it and that I have a treatment that works just right for me. The article in the Aug issue of Redbook is fantastic and they admitted that they don't know for sure what causes PCOS but they did say that it is true that for some women it can be genetic related and for others insulin resistance related, and yet for others like me there are other kinds of causes. Reading all these messages as I say has helped me so much to see just how unique each case of PCOS is including my own as I have said already. ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html For women who are interested in additional support http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Endo_Vulvodynia_PCOS/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Zoladexforendometriosis/ I am a Medical Secretary who does a lot of learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own personal experiences.
