LOL, actually I've been in the world's longest first stage labor since Friday night, and I've been keeping up with email and boards and everything else as a great way of distracting myself! It could still be another 2 weeks they say (or, if things suddenly stop, it could be longer! GULP!) but she might also come tomorrow for all we know. I'm 70% effaced and only dilated to 1cm as of this morning. But that's all happened in the last 24 hours or so so maybe it will be quick!

She is doing GREAT, although her weight keeps slipping in her percentile. Last measurement ultrasound at 34 weeks she was weighing in at 5lbs 2oz, which is like 45%. Not tiny or anything, but we were so scared she'd be HUGE that 45% sounds pretty good!

I was technically diagnosed with gestational diabetes but I am convinced I never really had it. I did have the occassional high blood sugar after eating (I check 5 times a day) but they were no higher than 140 ever. They were also much lower in between meals (hypoglycemia acting up again) so it was more of wider swings than usual. I know I've said it before but I stayed on the Glucophage through the whole pregnancy (and will while nursing as well) and I credit it totally for keeing thigns as good as they have been!

Anyway, these contractions for the most part don't really HURT hurt, although my cervix aches! They're pretty steady at about 8 minutes apart and not changing much - but since I'm not dilated very far, I'm waiting at home until things progress a bit. Tomorrow morning we have another (we do them weekly!) ultrasound and they'll do a transvag to check my cervix so we'll know more then!

There's slight confusion as I have a latex allergy and the hospital my HMO wants me to deliver at does not have the ability to deal with latex allergies (how dumb is that???) but, typical of an HMO, I'm having trouble getting them to cover another hospital. Supposedly that should all be worked out before she arrives, we will see!

Everyone wish us both luck! It's the end of a LONG long journey for us and I'm still half terrified that something will go wrong! Maybe after infertlity you never quite get over that. But I'm way excited to experience her birth and to finally hold my little girl. You guys are on Pete's list to update as soon as anything happens :)

Thanks for asking!
