I was 18 when I had the same symptoms and went thru the exact same diagnosis procedure as you- of course with the same outcome. I think you have hit the nail on the head with why your cycle has regulated itself. I too found that when I lowered the percentage of body fat my symptoms disappeared and I wasn't overweight to begin with either. I am now 31 as well and have two healthy little boys who I managed to conceive without the drama I thought would be involved. When I was first diagnosed my periods were between 6 and 12 months appart and the Dr. told me the prospects of having kids was grim. For those who are lucky enough to get their body fat down it is truly worth it but some I believe aren't as fortunate. Body fat produces more of the male hormone androgen I believe.
