PCO hair lossFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 8 Jul 2003 11:19:06 -0500 (CDT)
Hi My name is Usha. I was diagnosed with PCO more than a year back, but due to my husband's ill health I could not concentrate on it. I have noticed that I have lost a lot of hair( I have always had lot of hair and I had never noticed it until recently). When I mentioned this to my mother in law in India ( she is very very nice) she sent me some herbal hair oil. The rate of hair loss gone down by at least 50 percent after I started usign this. A week back I went to a dermatologist and he asked me to use Rogaine extra strengh and he said that I had lost more about 70% of my hair and Rogaine is the only product that helps. I was really happy to hear the news and immediately started using it, but My hair loss came back with force. I am losing more than I used to, so I read the regaine help and also talked to my dermatologist. The rogaine help people said the that a little hair loss is seen but it should be afte 2 weeks or so using rogaine and not after 2 -3 days. My dermatogist say that this is very unusal and did not give me a concrete yes or no (probably he wanted to be on the safe side I do not know) So I am at a loss as to what to do. I have started using Yasmin and Metaformin but I get nausea with Metaformin. I do have appointement set up with PCO speclist on the 21st , but I am not sure if I will have any hair by then. I am at a loss on what to do, PLease help me. I want kids but I am not sure how it is going to be to get pregnant. Please help I have been thru worst things ( my husband is a chronic pancreatitis patient and had surgey last year which was so complicated that it lasted 16 hours, and now he is diabetic) but now I have lost the will to live
