metformin vs metformin

I am guessing at this point who ever asked the original question about the differences between metformin and glucophase has been answered. What was not discussed was the the differences in generic metformin from pharmacy to pharmacy. Because I had heard of several women here talking about having problems with metfomin but not with glucophase I asked my KMart pharmacist about it. She told me that not all generic metformin, or any other generic drugs for that matter are alike. SHe went on to explain about how there are different grades of generic drugs. Where you buy them at can make a difference in how they perform. I personally have had no problems at all with my met so I was more intersted in this just as general knowlege. Some of you ladies without perscription coverage may want to look into what grade the drugs you are taking are if you are having problems and can't afford to go to name brand glucophase. Maybe this inst the reason for having a problem with metformin, but it might be worth trying.
