Reply: Angela: "Re: PCOS...new..young." Hi, Im just 20 yrs old. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 years ago now. My doctor put me on birthcontrol to treat the PCOS. Is this right? should i only be on birth control? it doesnt seem to help. lately ive been having sharp pains, where my overies are. i do have a dr's appt, but am nervous about what this can be. ive heard many different things about PCOS. Mainly that since i do have this syndrome, it is likely that i will be infertile. Is this true? what can i do about this syndrome to ensure i can have children later in life. if anyone has any kind of information, please help me. or if you know of a website that will help..
