What to do if I have two periods every month?From: J.W.J. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 27 Jun 2003 11:53:46 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I have been taking the Ovcon 35 BCP for more than a year with no problems. However, the last three packs I have had a period right in the middle of the pack, starting on day 11. I asked the doctor, she said I could have an ultrasound, but she doubts that they will see anything since I have been on the pill. She said I could move up to a BCP with 50 mcg of estradiol, since it looks like my hormone levels are lowering during the middle of my cycle, OR I could just stay on the pill I'm on and deal with the side effects. I HAVE noticed also in this same amount of time that my acne and oily skin is worse, and mood swings are worse. Please give me advice. I'm worried about being on such a high dosage of BCP. What will it do to my PCOS? I know that if your testosterone level gets too LOW that you don't feel like yourself. Will that happen? Will it cause me more hypoglycemia problems, even though I'm on metformin? I AM so tired of bleeding two out of four weeks every month, and am so tired of the skin problems. The dermatoligst's RX's for the topical gels aren't really addressing anything. By the way, I'm age 39, if it helps to know that. Thanks, Jessica
