I need some adviceFrom: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 26 Jun 2003 10:07:19 -0500 (CDT)
Hello there ladies! It has been some time since I have posted any messages, and I no longer receive the posts in my email. I came here today to ask this question...Have any of you been diagnosed with PCOS, and Thyroid disease? If so...what do you do to control both? I have recently been put on synthroid for Hashimotos thryoid disease, and I have been successfully diagnosed with PCOS. my doctor told me that I should probably only be on birth control pills to control the PCOS. Since I began taking the synthroid and the birth control..i am feeling MUCH better, but my periods are irregular again, and acting just like they were before I knew I had PCOS. I am afraid that the birth control theory is just not working for me, and possibly not controlling the hormone levels that I have a problem with because of the PCOS. If someone has the same diagnosis as I do..could you tell me what meds you are on for both conditions, or what is working for you? I really appreciate any responses!! Mary. Delwickie@netscape.net
