Hi Tammy Jo!
Yeah, if you read the book, BEFORE THE CHANGE, by Ann Louise Gittleman,
there is a lot of "natural" type things we can do about our PCOS, and
Progesterone cream is one of them. You should get the book, mine is
highlighted all over as there is so much useful info in it. The
information on the cream is as follows.
Gittleman suggests:
Progesta Key, by Unikey Health Systems (they have a website and seem to
be out
of Australia. It's $35 for 3 oz. and it comes in a pump, so the
correct amount is dispensed every time.
The others are: Angel Care, from Angel Care
Bio Balance, from Garon Pharmaceuticals
Equilibrium, from Equilibrium Lab
Femme Naturale, from Sarati Lab
NatraGest, from Broadmoore Labs
OstaDrem from Bezwecken
PhyotoGest from Karuna Corp
Pro-Alo, from HealthWatchers
I haven't looked on the web for these others but I know there are some
less expensive creams that Progesta Key. According to all I have read
about progesterone, you don't want a lot of air getting to it so it's
supposed to be best in a dispenser or tube. Also, you don't want cream
compounded with mineral oil, for example.
The goal is to apply 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of cream daily to different areas of
your skin, like the neck, inner arms, upper chest, breasts, palms, soles
and back of hands. Some people use it from days 12-26, or 14-28,
depending on how they feel their cycle works. Also, if you still have
symptoms you can go up to 1/2 tsp per day, but no more. It may take
several months before you notice a lot of difference. On month 2, I
noticed my hair had stopped falling out. So give it time. Okay? Good
luck! :)
