Hi Fallon, I am sure that you are worried about your insurance. I don't want to tell you that your company wont label you a diabetic, because the way some of these places are, I really dont know. YOu are not a diabetic. Might I sugest a call to the insurance company with general questions reguarding becoming a customer. YOu dont have to give them you name. If they insist on a name make one up, ask for info directly about coverage for women with PCOS as well as insulin resistance. Tell tham that you are shopping around for coverage.

As for your doctor not rx metformin for PCOS, he is definately out of the loop. I am guessing that you are seeing a gyneacologist or a familiy doctor. PCOS is a endocrine problem not a reproductive one. Can you get a referal to see an endocrinologist?? They specilize in treating this disorder and should be much more up to date on treatments.

Hope this helps, Janet Heller
