pcos questionsFrom: Heather (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 15 Jun 2003 15:16:43 -0700 (PDT)
Hello, I have recently been diognosed with PCOS. I have all the symptoms, and have had very little luck with losing weight. I eat a very low carb, low fat diet, and have recently cut out almost all carbs. I also work out at the gym at least five nights a week lifting weights and doing cardio and play tennis several times a week. I was very disappointed with my doctors visit. He is very knowledgable about treatments of PCOS, but when I told him my weight problems, he looked at me sarcasticly, and said "you and I both know if I had to slide your food under that door, you would lose weight. People do starve to death. I personally rode my bike all summer and only lost five lbs." He basicly told me to stop overeating. I was very depressed. He doesnt believe a word I said, I could see it in his eyes. Is it common to have such a hard time losing weight? I will be starting on my meds, Met and Gluco. next month, will this help? Please let me know. I have hundreds of questions. Thank you so much Heather SBC Yahoo! DSL - Now only $29.95 per month!
