No I dont think acupunture is too far out there. Only been used for a couple thousand years. However, my insurance company will not pay for it so I dont see me doing it any time soon. I belive eastern medicine has alot to offer.

As for getting preggo without help, my son was an "accident" so obviously I was not undergoing fertility treatments. Despite what many doctors will tell you, many of us have children, and had them with no help. Many of us got pregnant with metformin alone. Unfortunately, there are also alot of us that do have a very hard time concieving.

AS for my personal treatment, I have been on metformin for about a year now. I dont low carb, but I have lowered my carbohydrates and try to only eat whole foods(whole wheat breads and pastas, brown rice, fruit instead of juice) and no sugar. Lost 40 pounds between the diet and the drugs. I need to loose another 40 but I have been cheating a little on the refined carbs. Not gained any weight back, but have'nt lost anymore either. It does get tuff when you want to not cook and want pizza at the same time. I think I am going to open a resturant that makes whole wheat pizza. Ok, so only me and 4 other people in town will eat there, but hey, at least we'll be healthy.
