Re: PCOS, Infertility and PregnacyFrom: Tracy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 10 Jun 2003 13:35:24 -0500
Leandra: Hi! I'm sure others will back me up on this, but just because you have a period does not mean you have ovulated. I know, I was surprised too! For the past few years I had been having irregular periods and finally a blood test come back that said I was anovulatory (no ovulation). This combined with a higher than normal result on my IGTT prompted my doctor to put me on metformin at the beginning of May. I am happy to say that it worked, it produced an ovulatory cycle, and I am now almost 7 weeks pregnant! I would talk to your doctor about metformin (generic for Glucophage). I have read on these boards of amazing results in "infertile" women, and my own little "Sprout" is all the proof I need! Best of luck to you! Tracy
