Unfortunately, this is very common in the UK. Many specialists will only prescribe met if ttc. And since you only get two referrals to specialists (NHS), many PCOSers suffer needlessly with no help. I have heard of a few GPs near London/Bristol who will prescribe met. Try the Verity website, or http://www.specialistinfo.com/directory.php has a list of physicians who specialize in PCOS.
