I see alot of posts on Metformin but I was interested in anyone who is taking Avandamet. I was just put on this and know that it is relatively new. The dosage is 1mg Avandia/500mg Metformin. Everyone seems to be taking a higher dosage of just Metformin. Can anyone tell me if they have had good a experience with Avandamet for losing weight, controling IR, etc? I am nervous that this dosage may not be enough and will follow up with my dr. in 3 weeks time on my progress. He told me that with a good diet, exercise, and use of Avandamet that I would do good with the control of weight and IR. He also stated that this would decrease my testosterone levels, acne, skin tags, darkening of skin and other problems associated with PCOS. I just am not sure why he didn't prescripe regular Metformin rather than this? Any info. on Avandamet would be appreciated. Mel
