Anyone from the UK?, I have some questions.

I'm 41 this year, have not been able to have children, but have reached the stage where I am at peace with this. I have had several problems that more or less started when my doctor advised me to come off the pill because I have been on it for so long. I think all these problems are a result of having PCOS but being on the pill masked them. The questions I have are; How easy is it to get prescribed metformin in the UK other than for infertility? Are there any Endocrineologists in or around the Somerset/ Bristol Area that I could ask my doctor to refer me to? (so far I have just had a referal to a Gynaecologist, and I'm not sure that's appropriate when I don't want children.) Where can you buy low carb food in the UK? Thanks.
