My routine was the alarm went off, DH would shut it off and head for the shower, and I would stick the thermometer under my tongue. Usually I fell asleep again, woke up wnough to take it out when it beeped, and slept again until DH was out of the shower and it was my turn. Then later in the afternoon I could check the temp and log it, when I was awake! It became part of my routine after a while and there are still days now where I hear the alarm and reach for the bedside table looking for the thermometer!
