Question about weightloss on MetforminFrom: Anomaly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 May 2003 22:27:13 -0500 (CDT)
I know many people here take Metformin (glucophage) and have lost a lot of weight on it. I just had a question for those of you: When you started losing weight on it, was it because you started having a decreased appetite (or got fuller on less food than usual, as if having a shrunken stomach?) or were you just eating the same amount of food as you had before taking it, and it simply caused you to lose weight anyway? I'm just wondering, because I was just diagnosed and just starting taking it, and it feels like I can go a while without eating and not be as hungry as I used to, and I get fuller on less food, so I'm just wondering what other people's reactions are. (I don't know if I'm losing any weight yet, as I'm too afraid to weigh myself because I know I'll freak out--i've gained quite a bit of weight recently!) Thanks, gals! (And thanks to sonnet and thee for your skin tag responses!) -rebecca
