Hi, I have been on Met. 500 mg. twice daily since October 2002, and it
just recently started making me sick. I have had really bad headaches,
heart palpitations, pulling sensation on my left side near my heart,
numbness in my left hand, craving for sweets and a few other things like
jaw pain. I was wondering if anyone has had these symptoms and if they
are from taking Met. My doctor is out of town for 2 weeks, so the nurse
consulted another doctor who suggested I try stopping Met. for a week
and then call them back. I'm in my second day of not taking Met. and
so far haven't had any headaches, but I do have some other symptoms like
back pain, stomach pain and major cravings. I have tried diet and
exercise since October, but nothing works. The cravings are the worst
thing to conquer, but it seems like it's impossible. I am about 40 lb.s
overweight and am sick of being fat. It just seems to be getting worse.
I was on Paxil for depression, but recently got off due to really bad
reactions while on the med. Plus I would like to try and conceive again
(I have a 7 year old and 1 miscarriage 2 years ago). Are there any
tests that my ob/gyn can do to make sure it is safe to conceive? I don't
know what to do and my next appt. with my specialist isn't until
August. Any suggestions? Thanks for listening!

I have ovulated the past two months and have had regular 28 day cycles since starting the meds. (I hadn't had a period in almost a year prior) I think you have to do what works for you, and take it according to what your MD says. Everybody is different.
