PCOS: False Positve for Pregnancy?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 May 2003 20:29:08 -0500 (CDT)
I have a friend who has PCOS, and she thinks that she may be pregnant. She took a pregnancy test, but the results have been so faint that she has been asking friends for their advice. In my experience and opinion I would say no, because I have seen this same affect with pregnancy tests and in my case I wasn't pregnant and have never miscarried due to false positives. When she went to her doctor's office they didn't even do a pregnancy test on her, they just did her blood work, is that normal and/or standard procedure not to do a urine test? Also, she hasn't even missed her period yet. Can you still have a result without even waiting till after you have missed your period? Anyway, I don't know if this makes sense, but I have often thought that I was preggy do to tests barely changing and therefore I feel it is so hard to confirm it through such shady results. Any suggestions?
